I got this seat heater partially because my fiance’s newer car with built-in seat warmers made me jealous, and partially because my car’s heater doesn’t get above lukewarm when it gets below freezing (which is exactly when you need it?). The first snow of the season came today (right after Thanksgiving so at least it’s seasonally appropriate) so it was the perfect day to test out my new seat heater. There were no instructions for installation on the sheet, just how to use the heater; luckily my fiance is handy and was able to figure it out in a minute versus my fumbling for a few minutes longer. Sitting on it in the cold before turning it on is slightly chillier than the cushion of my actual seat. Warming up was pretty fast in my opinion; I felt comfortable & warm for most of my 15 minute commute, which is perfect. I haven’t tested it on a longer drive yet. I’ve seen in other reviews that it doesn’t get uber warm, but after using my fiance’s built-in seat heaters, though, maybe that’s not a bad thing. I always put his to the highest heat and then have to turn it down when it gets uncomfortable, but then I get cold and have to bump it up, then I get uncomfortable, etc etc. So having a constant comfortable temperature seems nice. Your mileage may vary though.
